Body Painting Art Expo 2012

Body art is extremely popular all over the world and includes anything that consists of the human body. Some of the most popular types of body art are tattoos, and piercings but other types of body art involve air brushing, scarring, branding, scalpelling, shaping with corsets and lace and body painting. In addition, body art encompasses nose rings, dydos, bangles, rings, makeup, studs, nose pins, and lip plates. There are more extreme types of body art involving mutilation, or pushing the physical limits of the body. Marina Abramovic is a body artist and her exhibit involved her dancing until she collapsed from tiring out. Dennis Oppenheim is another example of a body artist where he suntanned until he burned while holding a book to his chest – thus he had an outline of the book on his chest. On a less extreme level body art is a form of decorating the body, and emphasizing or showing off a certain feature.

Body Art Forms

Walking in the Downtown area I noticed awesome looking Ink from across the street and I decided to stop the woman who proudly displayed fantastic work of art.

Body Art FormsCalves are awesome areas in the body to have decorated with Ink designs, especially when you have flawless skin. there was more to photograph since the person has such amazing taste for body art and I hope I get to feature most of her tattoos and piercings soon.

Body Art FormsOutstanding, thats how I can describe all the amazing wrok she has on the rest of her body which is appealing and easy on the eyes. It is a great feeling to stand out from the rest on a high artistic level like she does.

Breathing wallpaper by Emma HackThe idea for her exhibit 'body.art.08,' in which these images appeared, came when she saw a series of wallpaper samples from the 1930's by the Australian designer Florence Broadhurst.

Breathing wallpaper by Emma HackHack got started as a face painter and make-up artist 18 years ago before she decided to take on the whole body.
